Departments

Over 200 students study at the instrumental department of the school. They get basic musical education and perform at concerts. This department has three divisions: a piano division (headed by Larisa Kostyuchenko), an ancient music division (headed by N. Belyaeva) and electro-music division (led by Natalia Mikerina).

На уроке преп. Л. КостюченкоOver 100  students study at the piano division many of whom  are laureates of the town, regional and inter-regional piano competitions. Every year this division arranges the inter-regional competition of performers of the piano pieces named after Irina Zakharova.

Винниченко КириллAt the electro-music division students are taught to play electro- musical instruments (synthesizer). Children learn basics of arrangement and improvisation and thus improve their musical abilities.

The musical-theoretical department (headed by Svetlana Stepkina) aims at providing musical literacy for the students who study the theory of music, solfeggio, musical literature, history of music and Fine Arts. The most gifted students are offered to do a course of musical improvisation. At the initiative of the Children School of Fine Arts “Rhapsodia” the inter-regional competition in solfeggio is held in Dubna every year.

Выступление ансамбля «Традиция»At the ancient music division music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque is taught. Not only do they keep traditions of performing ancient music but also try to develop and combine it with the elements of folk, classical and modern music. The annual inter-regional festival of ancient music  is held in Dubna. Performances of the ensemble of ancient music “Tradition” are always bright and successful. Since 1993 this ensemble has been led by Natalia Belyaeva, a former artist who used to give concerts with the ensemble “Ludus” (Latvia).

In September 2000 the ensemble “Tradition” became a laureate of VI  International Festival “Caleidoscopio – 2000” in Castagnetto Carducci (Italy). It is a prize-winner of II International Children’s Festival of Ancient Music in Vilnus (Lithuania).
